Autodesk® Revit® Architecture – 5 Module Introduction Class
Why 5 modules?
If we could have all of your attention for 40 hours this week, we would love it, and could more than fill that time sharing our enthusiasm for and knowledge of Revit. However, we have 20 hours together to start the learning curve of Revit. I am breaking this down into ½ day modules to help keep us on track. These modules are a ROUGH outline. Depending on how much you wall have picked up from tutorials and other training material, we will go faster (probably) or more slowly (doubtful) than this syllabus outlines. You will see the module 5 is flexible to account for the pace of the class.
Hardware Requirements:
- Revit Architecture 2010 installed and licensed or still within 30 day trial period.
- For web based training, the best scenario is for you to have dual monitors so we can share our screen with you via Live meeting and you can work side by side on the other screen. While this can be done on a single monitor by using ALT-TAB to switch windows, a dual monitor or very wide screen (to tile these two views) by far is better. We will be presenting in 1024 x 768 resolution. Use this as a guide to see if you have a wide enough screen (2048 pixels wide) or if you need to find a way to get another monitor hooked up to your machine.
- You will need a headset and microphone that works. Attempting this course on a telephone is not advised. You need both hands free to run the software
- As a last resort you can project our screen in a conference room. In this case we will still require all students have an internet connection and are hooked up to the live meeting. This will enable you to share your screen with me should questions arise.
All web training sessions will be recorded. By attending you are agreeing to be recorded. This recording will be available for viewing 14 days after class, after which the recording will be destroyed. The recording will be password protected and available to all students.
Live meeting entails a conference call to a long distance number. Please be advised of this and have an office code to charge to prior to class.

2.5 days of Revit training in our experience is enough training to Start getting you thinking about Revit and develop a vocabulary and thought process which only generates more questions. Because the real learning curve of Revit happens when you start a project, we highly recommend that in addition to this training, your company also signs up for a minimum of 16 hours of webinar based “job coaching”. Job coaching works as follows: Hopefully during the introduction class you will start your project.
Following the Introduction class, you will continue to work on your project. As you do, keep a running list of questions. Email us your list. We will set up a live meeting and you will present your project and we will walk you through the steps to solve the issue in your project file. This is usually done in a train-the-project format (Although we are answering your questions, we will be in teaching mode to explain the concepts and issues behind the answer). This follow training will happen within 30 days after the end of class, so having a project to work on when class starts is almost a requirement.
